From the beginning SloWmo set out to be a team for Norwegians who may not have the pace, skill, or time to reach the very top of domestic and global simracing. The name, expected to be temporary at the time, stuck around and turned out to suit us well in an ironic fashion.
With the newbie-friendly nature of the team, a large number of members is a given, currently we are at 28 members, some come and go, and some are supporting members who chime in from time to time. In a sense, SloWmo is more of a community than a proper team. A firm core or long-time members represent most of the activity, while the rest are welcome to join in on activities as they please. An important effort for the team and those around it is the charity races, having helped with raising tens of thousands of Euros worth of funds for mental health charities.
True to the initial intent, a SloWmo racer still isn’t expected to be the quickest or a tactical mastermind, most of all the team is about the common interest and having a solid place to find trustworthy teammates for officials or leagues. These days the yellow and dark gray cars are mostly found in endurance races such as the Daytona 24 or Petit LeMans. As well as leagues ranging from CSL to the Radical series.
